Demetrius Williams

Managing Director

After a successful career designing and overseeing the development and construction of various mining equipment that included the ground breaking designs as the Head of the R&D division for one of the largest mining houses between 1983 - 1990, the opportunity to reach higher levels in my career seemed limited at the time, hence the change in career path to civil engineering.

Personal career highlights was starting my civil and structural engineering career in Harrismith with Bergman-Ingerop, a partly SA / French owned company with the head office in Paris, France. During my time working for this Engineering firm, I worked with and reported to the senior civil and structural engineer, producing all the structural designs from schools, corporate buildings of which the last was the Monapo Hospital's steel frame roof and alterations designs prior my resignation.

I later took up a position as the Deputy Town Engineer of the then Harrismith Municipality which later became Maluti-a-Phofung. During the amalgamation of Municipalities in 2000, I was appointed as the Lead Engineer for the newly established Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality and held the position till 2002 after which I took up a position at the Dihlabeng Local Municipality as the Director for Public Works from April 2002 till October 2006 as a Section 57 appointee on a 5 year fix term contract.

Having gained such vast Municipal Engineering experience, I registered Demetrius Williams and Associates  in 2008 as Civil / Structural & Project Management firm and grow from there to what it is today. Various roads projects took off, some in the Maqhaka- & Setsoto Municipalities respectively. We were also appointed as consultants by various other Municipalities and private firms. Our office initiated and facilitated the now completed Dihlabeng Mall (Phase I). After securing additional land for the client, phase II was planned and we were appointed as Civil Engineers on the project.
